The rise of autonomous vehicles will have major implications for both the future of the automotive industry, as well as state and local transportation policies, legislation, and regulation. Since 2012, 41 states have considered legislation; 22 states have enacted legislation; and another 10 states have created regulations through executive order. This roundtable will focus on current regulatory approaches to autonomous vehicles, lessons learned, and emerging issues that states will encounter.
